Deacon Dan Lupo, Ph.D.

Hello and welcome! Here's a bit about me:I was ordained a Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Austin (2010); I minister at St. Thomas More Parish, the Travis County Jail, St. Dominic Savio High School, and the Mercy of God Prayer Center.After careers in academia and hi-tech, I earned chaplain certification in 2006 and worked as a hospice chaplain until 2012. I then was appointed co-director of Diaconal Formation for the diocese, serving until 2019.In 2017, I had the honor of serving with Pope Francis at Christmas Eve Mass at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome (photos at right, article).I am a commissioned Spiritual Director, a Retreat Director, and a Healing Prayer minister. I teach and present on a variety of topics relating to spirituality and spiritual growth.
